FDA Regulations

Dr. Carmen Booker, of the FDA Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean gave a presentation on recent developments in relation to the implementation of the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). She presented on: Foreign Supplier Verification Programmes for Importers of Food for Humans and Animals and the Accreditation of Third-Party Auditors/Certification Bodies.

Dr. Susan Corning of the OIE, Dr. Luis Villamil of the Colombia National University and Ms Alejandra Diaz, IICA AHFS Specialist gave a presentation on the topic: 'One world, one Health'.

FDA OFFERS ONLINE FOOD SAFETY COURSES

The FDA has taken a hands-on approach to informing on and regulating food safety requirements. The authority has created a learning portal at http://www.learningservices.us/FDA/training to provide access to regulatory counterparts of online courses on key food safety issues. A selection of these modules has been translated to Spanish.
