Regional Organisations

Caribbean Export Development Agency: Caribbean Export is the only regional trade and investment promotion agency in the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) group. It was established in 1996 by an Inter-Governmental Agreement as the trade promotion Agency of the 15 Member States of CARIFORUM. Caribbean Export seeks to increase the competitiveness of firms in CARIFORUM countries in priority sectors through investment, market expansion, product development and export diversification. They address the constraints in the enabling environment as well as the direct challenges that companies face. Refer to http://www.carib-export.com.

Caribbean Regional Organisation for Standards & Quality: The CARICOM Regional Organisation for Standards and Quality (CROSQ) is an Inter-Governmental Organisation among the fifteen Member States of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). It supports the CARICOM mandate in the expansion of intra-regional and extra-regional trade in goods and services. CROSQ is the regional centre for promoting efficiency and competitive production in goods and services, through the process of standardization and the verification of quality. It is mandated to represent the interest of the region in international hemispheric standards work, to promote the harmonization of metrology systems and standards, and to increase the pace of development of regional standards for the sustainable production of goods and services in the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME), and the enhancement of social and economic development. Direccion General de Normas y Sistemas de Calidad (DIGENOR): DIGENOR is the government office in the Dominican Republic in charge of enforcement of regulations on marking, labeling as well as quality controls. Refer to http://www.digenor.gob.do/.

Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States Export Development Unit (EDU): The EDU Staff is comprised of a team of dedicated professionals with significant private sector experience. The EDU acts as the primary sub-regional institution of the OECS Member States for the development, promotion, and expansion of exports through the mobilization of technical and financial support for the agriculture and manufacturing private sector. Caribbean Association of Industry and Commerce (CAIC): CAIC is the only accredited private sector umbrella association operating at a regional level. CAIC offers training, trade facilitation services and advocacy. Refer tohttp://www.caic.org.tt.
